| Good price for a dry, lusty Malbec that shows the variety’s huge fruit, in a balanced, elegant package. While it’s very tannic, the wine is softly drinkable now for it’s vast wealth of blackberry, black currant, dark chocolate, anise and sandalwood flavors. |

The McDermaid Family Vineyard 2007 Malbec from Reds Hills in Lake County is nicely structured with solid tannins and very nice fruit. It is somewhat reminiscent, in quite a nice way, of Argentine Malbecs. |
