In 1996 the McDermaid Family purchased a tired old walnut ranch in what was to become (nine years later) the Red Hills - Lake County Appellation in Kelseyville, California.

For the next four years working on week-ends, holidays and spare time the trees were removed and Malbec, Petite Sirah, and Petite Verdot were planted.

After growing high quality fruit for major Napa and Sonoma wineries for ten years we decided to make some small hand-crafted lots of wine to release under our own label. The 2007 release is our first.
